Friendship

Everytime something negative happens with a friend I always reflect on my friendships. It seems only when the negative happens do I begin to evaluate my friendships. I hate questioning friendships. The fact that I am questioning a friendship just makes me uneasy. It doesn’t make me feel good dwelling on the negative habits of people. Especially those that I assume are my friends.

Being hurt by friends really pisses me off. I try to be the best friend that I can be to all those that I am friends with. Sometimes I think I do too much. I don’t like being friends with people who wouldn’t do the same for me. That’s why I only have a true select amount of friends. I consider my friendship to be very valuable. I only want to be friends with people that I feel can enrich my life.

With all this said I feel like I should end some friendships. I know I have talked about it before in previous posts but I truly have been thinking about it. I think it is what would be best for me now. Sometimes you have to cut off the excess baggage from you. Even though you may not want to deep down inside you know it is what’s best.

So to all of you out there who have that friendship that is just excess baggage I am encouraging you to cut it off. It may be hard, but you have to do what’s best for yourself. It’s not good to just continue to be disappointed and hurt by those “friends” who are no good for you. It may be hard, but you have to do it. One of my favorite Whitney Houston songs is “Count on Me”. It’s from the Waiting to Exhale soundtrack. It’s a very good song. It’s always been one of my favorites. So here are the lyrics to it. Enjoy!

Count on me through thick and thin
A friendship that will never end
When you are weak
I will be strong
Helping you to carry on
Call on me, I will be there
Don't be afraid
Please believe me when I say
Count on...
I can see it's hurting you
I can feel your pain
It's hard to see the sunshine through the rain
I know sometimes it seems as if
It's never gonna end
But you'll get through it
Just don't give in cuz you can
Chorus:
Count on me (mm) through thick and thin
A friendship that will never end (ah)
When you are weak
I will be strong
Helping you to carry on
Call on me, I will be there
Don't be afraid
Please believe me when I say
Count on...
You can count on me
Oh yes you can (ah)
Oo, I know sometimes it seems as if
We're standing all alone
But we'll get through it
Cuz love won't let us fall
Chorus:
Count on me (count on me, i'll be there) through thick and thin
A friendship that will never end
When you are weak
I will be strong (I'll be strong)
Helping you to carry on (yes, you know)
Call on me, I will be there
Don't be afraid
Please believe me when I say
Count on...
Count on...
There's a place inside all of us
Where our faith in love begins
You should reach to find the truth in love
The answers' there within, oh
I know that life can make you feel
It's much harder than it really is
But we'll get through it (we'll get through it)
(Just) Just (don't) don't give in (oh)
Chorus:
Count on me (count on me) through thick and thin
A friendship that will never end (it'll never end)
When you are weak (you)
I will be strong (I will be strong)
Helping you to carry on
Call on me, I will be there
Don't be afraid (don't be afraid now)
Please believe me when I say
Count on
Count on
Count on
Count on
Count on
Count on me
Oh yes you can
I know I can
Yes you can
Well
So glad I can, count on me

When is the right time to have a child?

Well I have been thinking about this. I just recently became a godfather for the second time and I was wondering how many more god children will I have before I have my own child? I'm young, black, professional and I have noticed that a number of my coworkers and myself don't have children. I wonder why is this? Is anyone feeling pressure to have children. Some are married and some aren't. So I am asking you all when you think is the right time to have a child? Is there ever a right time to have a child? I know some women my age feel there biological clock ticking. They are trying to find the right man and want to find him immediately. Check out my video blog below for the rest of my comments on this topic. Enjoy!
